Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two men accused of allegedly gang raping a young woman and recording the assault on video in Baramulla district. The arrests followed a sustained investigation using technical evidence and human intelligence, police said.
According to SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh, the survivor approached Police Station Baramulla on July 25 and reported that she and a male friend had gone to Jalsheeri Drangbal when they were allegedly confronted by two men. Police said the accused allegedly assaulted the pair, sexually assaulted the woman, recorded the incident on video, and later allegedly showed the footage to others.
Investigators initially faced difficulty because the survivor reportedly knew the suspects only by their first names. However, the accused were identified through technical evidence and human intelligence and were arrested. Police said both accused are in custody, and the investigation is continuing in accordance with the law.
